About the Trip |
Why Cambodia? |
Guests enjoy intimate studio visits with Cambodia's top contemporary painters, sculptors, street artists, and performers. We are guided through fine art exhibitions by curators and meet the most exciting emerging artists reviving the arts in the country after decades of war. Along the way we engage with the culture in a truly authentic way, cooking local delicacies, visiting the ancient ruins of Angkor Wat, and forming personal bonds with the incredible artists who are propelling the contemporary arts forward in Cambodia.
|
Due to Pol Pot's Khmer Rouge genocide of the 1970s, it's estimated that 90% of Cambodia's artists were lost. Now is an especially exciting time in Cambodia's history as new artists are emerging from all corners of Cambodia, reviving the arts in the country and propelling the artistic scene here forward in new and profound ways.
Open Studio Cambodia's trips are unique in the country, and guests are treated to an exceptionally curated and authentic experience. |
